The Unistellar eQuinox 2 is a digital smart telescope built to make deep-space observation accessible without the steep learning curve traditional telescopes require. Rather than looking through an eyepiece, the eQuinox 2 captures the night sky through a Sony IMX347 image sensor and displays a live, continuously enhancing image directly on your phone or tablet through the Unistellar app. This bundle includes the eQuinox 2 telescope, premium full-height tripod, and a purpose-built carrying backpack for transport and storage.

ENHANCED VISION TECHNOLOGY

At the core of the eQuinox 2 is Enhanced Vision technology, which uses live image stacking to accumulate light over time and reveal detail that would be invisible to the human eye through a traditional eyepiece of the same aperture. Unistellar states the eQuinox 2 delivers viewing power up to 100 times greater than a conventional telescope of comparable size, making faint deep-space objects like distant galaxies and nebulae visible even from light-polluted urban locations. The system achieves a limiting magnitude of approximately 18.2 under rural skies and remains effective at magnitude 16 from within light-polluted cities.

AUTONOMOUS SETUP — OBSERVING IN MINUTES

The eQuinox 2 eliminates the manual alignment and star-hopping process required by traditional telescopes. Its Autonomous Field Detection system compares the current view against a database of more than 37 million stars to automatically identify its position in the sky and align itself accordingly. Once set up, the motorized Alt-Az mount handles tracking automatically, keeping targets centered as the night sky moves overhead.

Through the Unistellar app, users simply tap a recommended target from a curated catalog of more than 5,000 celestial objects and the telescope begins observation within minutes — no astronomy experience or technical setup knowledge required.

OPTICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The eQuinox 2 is built around a 114mm Newtonian reflector optical design with a 450mm focal length at f/4, producing a field of view of approximately 34 by 47 arcminutes — wide enough to frame the full moon. Light is captured by a 6.2 megapixel Sony IMX347 sensor rather than directed to an eyepiece, since the eQuinox 2 is purpose-built for digital observation and astrophotography rather than direct visual viewing.

DATA EXPORT AND STORAGE

The eQuinox 2 includes 64GB of onboard storage and supports RAW and FITS file export for users who want to process their own astrophotography images using external software. JPEG export is also available for quick sharing directly from the Unistellar app. An 11-hour rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers extended observation sessions without needing to recharge mid-session.
